The Bayside Diner & Surf Club

The iconic Bayside Diner opened in 1988 and became the central hangout in Summer Bay for teens and adults alike.

Aussie soap fans of a certain age will recognise this hangout, which was originally run by Bobby Simpson and Ailsa Stewart. The diner became a popular attraction for locals and tourists until 2000 when it burnt down due to a chip pan fire (the new diner just isn't the same!). Though it went through a refurb or two in later years, it's featured here in all its original 80s glory.

The empty unit next door was briefly used as a Youth Centre in early-mid 1989, and I initially kept it empty when I originally built it. That pack-lite version is still available in the Sims 4 Gallery.

More recently I decided to fill that unit, and what better way to do that than with the Surf Club! Admittedly, it's not screen accurate as the Summer Bay Surf Club was always a separate venue to the Diner, so this is more of a homage.

The Surf Club, er, Surf Club

While the Surf Club as a venue is open to all, there is a club door to the rear for entry to club gatherings if you wish to create an actual 'surf club'. Below you'll find the suggested setup:
  • Invitation: Open
  • Requirements: Teen, Young Adults & Adults
  • Activities:  Swim, Workout, Dive in the Ocean, Be Friendly with Everyone, Play Foosball
  • Do Not: Be Mean to Anyone, Fight with Anyone, Drink Bar Drinks, Sabotage Objects, Swipe Objects
